AMD mobile Athlon XP processors 2000+ and 1900+. Featuring AMD PowerNow!

AMD today introduced the high-performance mobile AMD Athlon XP processors 2000+ and 1900+. Featuring AMD PowerNow! technology, the new AMD mobile processors give businesses and home consumers a genuine mobile solution which can significantly extend battery life to enable anytime, anywhere productivity.

Notebook PCs powered by the new mobile AMD Athlon XP processors are immediately available from HP and Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Packard Bell, the consumer division of NEC Computers International, expects to offer systems based on the mobile AMD Athlon XP processor 1900+ later this year.

“AMD is focused on providing our notebook customers with exceptional mobile PC technology that gives them the freedom to stay connected and work from anywhere—at home, the office or while traveling around the world,” said Ed Ellett, AMD vice president of Client Business. “Mobile AMD Athlon XP processors combine outstanding performance and true mobility features to deliver versatility and expand customer choices for people on the go.”

The mobile AMD Athlon XP processor with QuantiSpeed architecture and 3DNow! Professional technology, combined with DDR memory technology, delivers extra performance to run software applications such as video and image editing, DVD playback and complex number-crunching.

“We believe the Compaq Presario notebook PCs featuring the new mobile AMD Athlon XP processors are another opportunity to provide consumers greater choice when building a PC that meets their needs,” said Brett Faulk, director of worldwide consumer notebook marketing, HP Personal Systems Group. “These new mobile solutions offer our customers outstanding performance and computing power.”

“Through working closely together over the years, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and AMD have brought high-quality, exciting and technologically advanced products to market,” said Peter Esser, Executive Vice President Volume Products at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “Our consumer notebook PCs powered by the mobile AMD Athlon XP processor are further proof of the many leading products to come from Fujitsu Siemens Computers for the laptop marketplace.”

“Packard Bell will offer powerful solutions based on mobile AMD Athlon XP processors to its home PC customers,” said Jacques Van Hollebeke, Marketing Executive Director, Consumer Division, NEC Computers International. “The introduction of the mobile AMD Athlon XP processors 2000+ and 1900+ give notebook PC enthusiasts a broader range of performance options for extra mobility.”

Offering compelling performance and exceptional reliability, mobile AMD Athlon XP processors continue to gain momentum worldwide as they are incorporated into commercial product portfolios, including the successful introduction of the Compaq Evo N115 notebook PC and the Fujitsu LifeBook A Series earlier this year.
