SUNNYVALE, CA, AMD today announced that the University of Delaware's Bartol Research Institute (BRI) has installed a supercomputer powered by AMD Athlon™ processors. Racksaver's "Samson" supercomputer, a Beowulf Cluster design that uses 128 AMD Athlon processors, was purchased through a $500,000 Major Research Infrastructure (MRI) grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
