JVC new high performance RX-DP20VBK audio/video control ReceiverJVC announced the introduction of the high performance RX-DP20VBK audio/video control receiver. Fully compatible with new high-resolution audio formats, the top-line RX-DP20VBK brings a true audiophile experience to home entertainment systems.JVC partnered with Texas Instrument (TI) to incorporate their newest digital signal processor (DSP) technology into the RX-DP20VBK. Texas Instrument’s Aureus (tm) Audio DSP leverages the company's recognized strengths in DSP, analog and tools. At the core is a 225 MHz DSP optimized for home theater products. With native support for 32/64-bit floating-point operations and 1800 million instructions per second (MIPS), the Aureus DSP enables a truly immersive listening experience for consumers. With the performance and flexibility of the device, JVC's new system can handle even the most demanding decoders, such as DTS 96/24, and offer additional audio processing algorithms all on a single DSP. "We are excited to be working with JVC, a recognized leader in the industry," said Curt Moore, business manager of TI's Performance Audio group. "The combination of TI's DA610 DSP and JVC's audio systems expertise will enable the next level of immersive and realistic listening experiences." With 7.1 multi-channel high-resolution audio capabilities, the RX-DP20VBK offers one of the most complete home theater entertainment experiences available. The receiver is fully compatible with all audio formats including DVD-Audio systems, and features 3 high band width component video inputs and 7 digital inputs (4 optical, 3 coaxial). The RX-DP20VBK includes THX Ultra 2 Certified Surround EX featuring seven independent 120-watt amplifiers and an Independent Direct Power Supply with separate analog and digital transformers. “JVC has answered the call of consumers for a top-of-the-line yet still affordable receiver with the introduction of the RX-DP20VBK,” said Karl Bearnarth, Vice President Consumer Audio Division, JVC Company of America. “This model not only offers the best possible performance for all currently available formats, but it’s designed to accommodate new products and technologies as they are introduced.” The RX-DP20VBK allows listeners to enjoy music anywhere in the home through a sophisticated multi-room/multi-source capability that allows two people to listen to different audio sources (DVD or CD, for example) in two rooms at the same time. However, the RX-DP20VBK takes the multi-room/multi-source capability a step further by allowing the user to enjoy a Dolby Digital 5.1 source in one room while playing another 2 channel audio or video source in a second room. The RX-DP20VBK, also features a 12-volt trigger to control a variety of convenient features such as illumination control and a detachable power cord. The new RX-DP20VBK adapts to listeners’ format preferences of Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro-Logic II, as well as DTS ES, DTS with 96/24 resolution, and DTS NEO: 6. Additionally, the RX-DP20VBK conforms to the Home THX specifications and standards set forth by Lucasfilm, Ltd. Home THX is a version optimized with digital processing to compensate for spatial and acoustic differences between the home and movie theaters. THX Surround EX, jointly developed by THX and Dolby Labs, enhances the listener’s sense of depth while improving the smoothness and definition of sound in rear channels.
