| Sony pimps cars with hot entertainment: DVD, LCD, amplifiers and subwoofersSony's mobile electronics team is shifting into high gear at the Specialty Equipment Market Association's (SEMA) annual trade show here in "sin city" with four tricked-out, customized rides and three award-winning Project Xplod vehicles featuring the latest state-of-the-art entertainment gear."From soccer moms to lowriders, we offer an in-car entertainment solution for every lifestyle," said Andrew Sivori, director of marketing for mobile electronics at Sony Electronics. "With products that combine old-school muscle with new-age technology, Sony is the ultimate destination for the automotive aftermarket." Sony's Team Xplod - Rodney Findley, Shawn Bennett and Jason Syner are back in the booth this year showing off three new "date magnets" that give car buffs something to dream about. Also at the booth are four customized rides spanning every preference, from a made-to-order pickup or family van to an extreme SUV and street rod. Custom Truck Sony is displaying the ultimate pickup, a customized Chevrolet Colorado featuring the popular CDX-M9905X head unit, with a 32,000-color TFT display and video input that can capture content from almost any source. In addition, the pickup offers four dedicated XM-D500X amplifiers and four XS-L101P5 subwoofers that deliver pure audio pleasure. Topping off this entertainment center on wheels are two rear-mounted, 15-inch LCD monitors, creating a completely immersive audio and video experience. Family Video If road trippin' is on the brain, the decked-out Nissan Quest Minivan will eliminate the question most associated with long rides: "Are we there yet?" This minivan sports an all-in-one Mobile DVD Dream System MV-900SDS that makes cruisin' down the highway fun for the whole family. Parents can focus on the road while kids - young and old - are entertained by music, videos and DVDs. A built-in wired FM modulator is included so sound can be streamed through the vehicle's built-in radio. The system also includes two sets of wireless headphones that keep the kids entertained while parents enjoy a quiet ride. Extreme SUV Take a number, because hip hop stars and professional athletes are lining up to make the custom 2005 Cadillac Escalade SUV on display in Sony's booth their own. Making its debut here at the 2004 SEMA show in Las Vegas is the souped-up Escalade with a plethora of amplifiers and subwoofers for "rock the wheels" sound and a stunning array of 20 6.5-inch headrest monitors and five 23-inch LCD-TVs. This totally pimped-out Escalade stands up against even the most luxurious home entertainment system. Street Rod The world of street rods will never be the same when enthusiasts get a look at the Xplod system outfitted in a custom 1956 Corvette. This classic Corvette is pumped up with a CDX-M8800 CD receiver, featuring fixed Active Black Panel (ABP) design and FL ABP, the next generation Active Black Panel with fluorescent full-motion display. A set of XS-HF500G components coupled with two XM-2100GTX amplifiers and an XS-L81P5 8-inch subwoofer complete a tasteful integration that updates this classic beauty with the latest in mobile entertainment gear. Team Xplod Three new Sony sponsored Team Xplod vehicles are taking center stage at the booth this year. Auto enthusiasts and car owners Rodney Findley, Shawn Bennett and Jason Syner are flaunting their over-the-top rides. Making its debut at the SEMA show, Shawn Bennett's completely redone Nissan 350Z features a sexed-up interior, paint job and a tricked-out engine. A whopping 16 XV-M16 H65 screens, four XM-2200GTX amplifiers and three DV-X11A DVD players ensure this show-stopping car will capture everyone's attention. Rodney Findley's 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT guarantees a second look with a CDX-M9905X head unit, DVX-11A DVD player and an integrated RM-XM10B wired remote. Components, amplifiers and subwoofers are enhanced with seven XVM-H65 TFT monitors, creating a home away from home. Jason Syner's award-winning 1995 Honda Civic is back again with its maxed out mobile audio/video extravaganza featuring a CD receiver, DVD changer, XM satellite radio tuner, nine amplifiers, six subwoofers and 13 XVM-H65 screens. + Post comment/question/reply
