3 endurance-driven Sony S2 Sports digial music and MP3 playersGetting in the zone just got more fun with the addition of three new S2 Sports players. A new Network Walkman digital music player, CD boombox and arm-band radio join Sony's endurance-driven line of S2 Sports portable audio devices, giving active music lovers even more reasons to get moving.All of the new models incorporate features for extreme sports, such as water and shock resistance, and active control for instant music access. Additionally, the S2 Network Walkman device plays back ATRAC3/ATRAC3plus , supports MP3, WMA and WAV files, and is compatible with the Connect online music service. "Since the introduction of Sony's S2 Sports line more than two years ago, everyone from weekend warriors to extreme gym rats have turned to S2 players to inspire their workouts through music," said Allan Jason, vice president of Sony Electronics' Personal, Mobile and Imaging Division, who focuses on portable audio and mobile electronics products. "With our latest introductions and the addition of a digital music player, we're offering even greater motivation to athletic-minded music fans." NW-S23 S2 Sports Network Walkman Digital Music Player The first flash-based digital music player to join the S2 Sports line, the NW-S23 model is ideal for anything from mountain biking to a walk in the park. About the size of a pack of gum, the tiny, 2-ounce player won't weigh you down during a workout. It sports an ergonomic design and achieves up to 70 hours of continuous playback on one AAA battery. The Network Walkman player features 256 MB of built-in flash memory that stores up to 170 four-minute songs at 48 kbps. It connects directly to a PC's USB port for quick transfers and comes bundled with SonicStage version 2.2 music management software. SonicStage software makes it easy to import, manage and transfer music collections and enables play-lists or track information created in the jukebox to be automatically transferred to the device. Additionally, the NW-S23 model is supplied with MP3 file manager software that enables the direct transfer of MP3 files to the device without going through SonicStage software. The player also has a backlit LCD display with four modes to show track numbers, play modes, artist names, song titles and more. The group/folder function allows for easy navigation between multiple folders transferred from play-lists. The S2 Sports Network Walkman player comes supplied with coordinating h.ear headphones and an arm-band style carrying case. It will be available at the end of this month for about $180. ZS-XN10 S2 Sports CD Boombox From beach house to ski lodge, the radical-looking S2 Sports boombox is a durable party companion that's ready to rock your world. The new ZS-XN10 model is equipped with two passive radiators that work overtime to boost the bass while the Mega Bass sound system ensures a full, rich sound. The unit includes ESP2 TM CD shock protection to prevent skips and its water-resistant design helps keep out moisture, sand and dirt. The boombox has a digital synthesized AM/FM stereo tuner and 30 memory presets for easy access to favorite stations. It will be available in February for about $100. SRF-M85V S2 Sports Stereo Arm Band Radio A fitness club staple, the S2 Sports arm band radio gets an upgrade with a slimmer and more lightweight design. The new SRF-M85V model has a weather band tuning function and a TV tuner, allowing users to listen to their favorite television programs while working up a sweat. In addition, the device is equipped with an AM/FM digital synthesized tuner and a stopwatch with split-timer functions. As comfortable as it is cool, the arm-band radio is designed with a convenient LED display angle, ergonomic layout of keys, and 30 presets allowing for easy control without interrupting activity. Complete with Sony S2 Sports vertical in-the-ear headphones, the new-arm band radio will be available in February for about $50. + Post comment/question/reply
